ISYS 100- Food Blog

Introduction

Hello blogging enthusiast’s welcome to Food Blog 2.0. This blog delves into the dynamics of the food and dinning industry, creating a unique and exciting experience for viewers. Whilst creating the blog each member of our group individually reviewed their dinning experiences sharing it via the Internet.  Encapsulating these together we were able to create an array of information and photos, allowing us to create a highly innovative and appealing blog.

Description of the video

The video that is portrayed, expresses the groups overall experience and reflection whilst undertaking this blog. The blogging process has brought great joy to many members of our group, as we were able to indulge in a few of our favourite cuisines. This video that was created is bound by a food theme, however we have chosen a more humours approach, to visually give our viewers meaning and an insight into why and how we created Food Blog 2.0. We hope you enjoy it!!
Please like and share the video upon your preferred social media platforms, as we would love for this amazing experience to be shared within a large radius.

Brief explanation of each member’s contributions

The making of this video saw each member of Food Blog 2.0 being recorded undertaking his or her cooking skills and processes. However after reflecting and reviewing these processes we came to the realisation that many of us young, university students cannot cook or even prepare food; thus the first part of our video depicts each members failure in preparing and cooking food, this humorous process adds value to our video. Secondly as many of us cannot cook or even know how to function within the kitchen, we all decided that dinning out was a sufficient mechanism to solve this problem. Here we are filmed eating and dinning once again, expressing some of the standout headings that were used in the blogging process. Finally the last part of the video shows a sense of community, who are all connected through food.  Here we are pictured having a conversation about the blogging process and its overall experience amongst all members of the group.

Blog Introduction

Firstly, lets consider two facts about food:
1. Humans are born craving sugar.
2. Chocolate was once used as currency.

Now with that in mind, when it came to deciding on a topic for a blog as a part of our assignment we decided to focus on food. It is not only an essential part of everyone’s lives, but also an indulgence to many, thus sharing our experiences and providing all readers with not only personal opinions but also descriptions of flavours of the foods, photos of the meals and surrounding areas as well as any other details of the cafes and restaurants we had a pleasure of visiting.

Who is “we” you ask? We are a group of six students at Macquarie University undertaking the “IT & Society” unit. Justin, Khai, Lauren, Madison, Monika and Patrick. And we would love to welcome you to our blog

We have been assigned the task of creating a blog as a group on a topic of our choice and sharing it with the greater community. What made us think of food? We were brainstorming ideas on something people enjoy doing, isn’t too much of an effort and allows for anyone to easily relate to and feel welcome. Food can be considered a universal language that brings people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds together. Food encourages not only broadmindedness but also diversity amongst all countries and has successfully integrated well within all nations.

And let’s not forget the feeling of “home”, happiness and welcomeness that is associated with food. Family events, birthdays, Christmas, simple get togethers or weddings and even funerals. They all involve food because food brings people together in all kinds of situations and emotions.

And let’s be honest … everyone loves to spoil themselves either on a regular basis or every once in a while and it’s always nice to have an insight about a place and what to expect.

WELCOME TO FOOD BLOG 2.0.
Stay Tuned :)
