The place to be on Friday Night!

Mollymook Golf Club

Our recent trip away for the weekend landed us within this destination. The small town of Mollymook presents waterfront views, peacefulness and a relaxing environment for individuals to catch up and have a fantastic night.

I enjoyed the friendly staff and quality bistro food, delving into my fair portion of seafood options. Maybe the close proximity to the water added flavour to the fish and chip meals.

Utilising the pokies and Tab facilities; whilst also enjoying great company, made my night a fantastic experience.

The Best Bakery In Town!

Bake House On Wentworth

Blackheath
Upon entering the venue, my nose filled with  the smell of oven baked breads, sugar syrup a pastries.  Neatly presenting the mouth watering options to the customers I knew a decision over what to eat would take a while.
All you have to do when coming to the Bakery is try  their Pork and Fennel Sausage Roll, Ginger Brulee Tart, Rosemary, Sage, Confit Garlic & Pink Salt Sourdough, in fact anything from the menu. It is all devine.    They do coffee too, of course.  It just keeps getting better, doesn’t it?

Resisting the urge to buy out the whole shop a Jam Donut and icecream was brought. The jam filling was divine. Oooozzinng out of the sides with every bit taken. Brings back childhood memories of a a face covered with jam. The dough was warm and covered in sugar cinnamon.

The Ice-cream was creamy. I had the crunchy peanut butter with cookie dough. A real treat for the price! The flavour was immaculate, rich and creamy with get the right amount of crunch.

A wide range of selections. From the classic pastries to added adaptions the .... has it all.

Carb Loading!

Pizza, Pasta Kitchen
Toongabie

After a long day at university, the Friday night munchies hit hard. Takeaway, a game of twister and Eurovision was on the cards!

Calling ahead 2 pizza's and 3 pastas were ordered.

- Supreme
- Hawaiian
- Bolognese- Cabanara
- Tortellini Boscaiolia

The food was incredible! The supreme pizza had copious amounts of topping with a crunchy base and a wood fired oven crust. The Hawaiian was incredible, with locally sourced leg ham placed on the pizza followed by the crunchy base and the large amounts of mozarella. Lets just say the pizza's were demolished.

Each pasta on the menu appears to come in two variations: one cream-based and one tomato-based. We ended up serendipitously/deliberately choosing 2 cream options. The other tagliatelle option was Bolognese .

The cabanara, is a celebration of carbs-and-cream, slippery strands of pasta hiding a forest of finely shaved mushrooms, chunky pieces of bacon and fresh herbs. The cream was light and just the right amount of salt had been added to tie the dish together. It was defiantly my favorite dish of the night.

Covered in red sauce, bits of olives and onions drizzled with olive oil this pasta was a crowd pleaser within the group. A napkin was needed both on our laps and around our chest to protect our white shirts. As we gobbled, slurped and soaked up all that red sauce with sour dough bread!

A large portion enough for 2 people to share!

The Tortellini Boscaiola
was a bit of a disappointment. A overly thick creamy white based sauce. The salt was over powering, with the added chunks of bacon the pasta became too much.
The filling was dry and lacked any real flavor.

Overall Rating:
3/5 Stars

Recomendation:
Best for a takeaway meal! Classic Friday night Couch and lounge! Recommend the red based sauce pasta and ofc the Family large pizzas!

Sweet Tooth!

Max Brenner

Castle Hill

With no ice-cream in the freezer and Mc'Donalds out of the question an adventure out to Max Brenner's was needed to fill my dessert Gap.

With the sun setting, I was glad the heaters were on when we finally arrived at Castle Hill.

Max Brenners was packed! Ordering at the counter we opted for a Waffle and Brownie to share and a Large Hot Chocolate.
Although busy the wait time was kept to a minimum.

Upon arrival we dug straight in. The side of Ice-cream was defiantly worth the extra $3 paid.
You can't go wrong with Max brenner! Reasonably priced for an indulgent chocolate fix. They do a great hot chocolate, although I really really hate the "cuddle cups". Whether it's waffles, brownies or fondue you can always rely on max brenner to provide a consistent and yummy desert.

Lunch Break For A Fresh Food Person

Sourdough Espresso

 St Ives Shopping Centre

A rainy Sunday and an insatiable hunger meant a big feed was needed and Sourdough Espresso delivered. Offering gourmet burgers with a drink and chips for only $12, all of the other characteristics are sort of irrelevant to me but I’m going to talk about them anyway.

Staff were pretty nice but not overbearing or over the top in how they talked. Wait time was about 10 minutes which is quite high for a takeaway joint but the burgers are made to order and a lot of components go into each individual burger. Other options available include salads, gourmet sandwiches, desserts and quiches so there are plenty of options for each customer.

Decor was quite nice as well for a restaurant that offers takeaway. Other food displayed looked delicious and the deals promoted on the TV screens at the back added to the place visually.

I ordered the Aussie Burger deal which included a wagyu beef patty, tomato, lettuce, cheese, beetroot egg with tomato relish and aioli on a brioche bun. It was completely what I wanted and all the flavours complemented each other well. Chips as well were hot and salted perfectly and were a great partner to the burger

Overall Rating:
5/5 Stars

Recommendation:
If you’re looking for a good burger deal in the north Shore area then Sourdough espresso perfect.
